This portrait has caught my eye as it shows character and makes great use of a classic complementary color scheme. The yellows and oranges are stronger than the blues (that have some browns in them) and it creates a nice balance. However, it seems that your the skin tone and the hair are a bit too uniform in terms of color temperature: a bit or blue or purple in the shadows and a different shade of blue in the light would bring life to the tones and some pink on the lips and around the eyes does not harm a guy .
The pose looks quite natural and really speaks to the viewer, however if one looks closer, some anatomy issues become apparent. First, the tip of his nose is depicted en face, while the head is slightly turned. Maybe it would make sense to downplay his right nostril (on the left of the painting). Another thing it his eyes: they are well-painted on their own, but they do not sit in their sockets quite right. I realize that the places where shadows should be are occluded by the glasses. Maybe it would also make sense to make the cast shadow from the glasses a bit stronger.
Finally, I'd like to compliment the small bright reddish spots on his scarf: they make it look very bright not making it too decorative.
